Gone in 60 Seconds
Notting Hill
National Treasure
Little Women
Miss Potter
Any Christmas movie, except A Christmas Story, and yes, I watch them year-round.
Most John Wayne movies - my hubby is an addict, and JW's voice has become sort of like comfort-food to me. Jimmy Stewart movies, too.

Some of my favourite films are foreign (lol... just realised that probably all of them are as American ones are foreign to me! I love a couple of French two part movies. The first pair a tragedy and the second just adorable. They are:
1. Jean de Florette & Manon des Sources (My first Gérard Depardieu film and a mega tragedy!)
2. My Fathers Glory (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2d4jxb8wAo) & My Mother's Castle.
3. Something's Gotta Give (love Dianne Keaton)
4. While You Were Sleeping
5. Sabrina (both)
I can't limit myself to 5!
6. Four films written and directed byThomas McCarthy UP, The Visitor, The Station Agent and Win Win.
7.Bridget Jones Diary

We're cooking collards tomorrow. How did yours turn out?
The first time I ate collard greens made by my now-hubby, I asked him to marry me!! They were THAT good. LOL!! (And so is he!)
Posted by: Tracy | October 28, 2011 at 06:59 PM
What are collard greens? Beans with buttoned shirts? I think not, but I'm intrigued:)

I remember going to a suburban cinema in Perth in the mid 80s to check out this little film no one had heard of - The Gods Must Be Crazy. A year later it was a big hit.
Posted by: Ozjudy | October 28, 2011 at 07:26 PM

Gone in 60 seconds, the cars were rocking in that movie. I remember Notting Hill because my wife used a song from the sound track in our wedding

Best sword fight scene ever (PB)
Posted by: Tony | October 29, 2011 at 06:32 AM
i can't believe i forgot the jane austin flicks... love those too, especially sense and sensibility. enchanted is another one of my favorites, partially because my 4-year-old son loves to sing the music from it and it's absolutely hilarious. :) we also loved tangled too - again, really fun music! :)
Posted by: katie | October 29, 2011 at 07:30 AM
i also loved the princess diaries too! :)
Posted by: katie | October 29, 2011 at 07:31 AM
Oh Enchanted! Can't believe I forgot that! When he sings to her at the ball...ahhhh...I am a sucker for all romance even in disney movies!
Posted by: Chris | October 29, 2011 at 08:33 AM
I am with you on Star Wars! Especially the first one, which I know is really the fourth one, but it will always be the first one to me cause I saw it in the theater when it was released! I am old...
Posted by: Chris | October 29, 2011 at 08:37 AM
Man movies: Don't get Lord of the Rings. Get Star Wars, think it's stupid, but if it's on my boys are watching it. Again and again and again. Count of Monte Cristo I don't like because it's not true to the movie. It's a bad day here, I can't rant on you anymore Tony, gotta run.
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 29, 2011 at 09:40 AM
I always get confused when my kids call it episode four. I'm like, wha?? No, it came out first.
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 29, 2011 at 09:55 AM
That What a Girl Wants is a cute one. Runaway Bride ooh love that one. There was one I forgot about that I thought of last night too, and now I can't remember it. We didn't get to watch anything last night. Dinner went too late!
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 29, 2011 at 09:56 AM
I love kids watching that movie, it's sooo cute how they get into it!
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 29, 2011 at 10:05 AM
Sadly, we know it's not MINE. MINE isn't out yet. Ever?? Maybe?? Time will tell. Ashley may be in the rest home. LOL
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 29, 2011 at 10:05 AM
Collard Greens are kind of like kale, and they're hard to get tender, so you cook them a long, long time with either salt pork or hamhocks, making them incredibly unhealthy but OOOOH so tasty.
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 29, 2011 at 10:06 AM
I haven't seen that since it first came out. I want to get it again, it made me laugh out loud.
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 29, 2011 at 10:07 AM
I think that's the second best kiss on screen (It's a Wonderful Life) Notorious is first.
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 29, 2011 at 10:07 AM
The Philadelphia Story, Rear Window, Gilda, Beauty and the Beast and Star Trek.
Posted by: Laurien | October 29, 2011 at 10:22 AM

Posted by: Ginny | October 29, 2011 at 11:13 AM

Which one? The "I am sorry I will have to kill you" Westley fight or "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya" 6 fingered man fight?
Posted by: NickinooOz | October 29, 2011 at 01:13 PM
Yes, Jane Austen film are a given. Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion I could quote word for word. Colin and Jennifer's P & P is technically a mini series so it doesn't count.
Posted by: NickinooOz | October 29, 2011 at 01:16 PM
"The I am sorry I will have to kill you fight". One of the best. I even read the book for that scene alone.
Posted by: Tony | October 29, 2011 at 01:42 PM
LOL yeah it kinda plays with your head a bit
Posted by: Tony | October 29, 2011 at 01:43 PM
LOL why don't you tell us how you really feel :)
Of course the book is much better than the movie. One of the movie's major flaws is the writers really dumbed it down and really did not let the book convey some of it's coolness on the screen. The scene from the book of Haydée testifying against Fernand would make great drama. That being said one of things I agree with movie over the book was Edmond ending up with Mercédès and not Haydée. In both the book and the movie Mercédès is the much cooler character and has greater depth while Edmond marrying Haydée felt cheap.
Posted by: Tony | October 29, 2011 at 01:52 PM
quality time LOL
Posted by: Tony | October 29, 2011 at 01:52 PM
and I hear you on the bad day thing. I had one yesterday day and attempting to recover from it today
Posted by: Tony | October 29, 2011 at 02:33 PM
You didn't mention your true favorite... 'Confessions of a Shopaholic'
Posted by: Kelly | October 29, 2011 at 02:35 PM
Lol she's an Aussie:)
Posted by: Ozjudy | October 29, 2011 at 04:59 PM
What's kale?? I'll have to go look that up.
Posted by: Ozjudy | October 29, 2011 at 05:03 PM
Kale is hard spinach. LOL

i heard they changed some of The Castle for the americans. took out some of the aussie-isms and changed them so the americans understood better.
like when he asks what's for dinner she says 'rissoles dear' and i heard they changed that to hamburgers.
let me know if they did!
Posted by: Bethanie | October 29, 2011 at 08:56 PM

Posted by: NickinooOz | October 30, 2011 at 04:03 AM
We went to the cinema as a school excursion to see it.
Posted by: NickinooOz | October 30, 2011 at 04:04 AM
Rissole by the way, sounds really wrong. LOL
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 30, 2011 at 10:38 AM
Oh Tracy, he sounds like the right guy to marry. Anyone who gets how to cook collard greens, well, he knows about the sensual experience of food, and you can't go wrong there. Ours were great, but we didn't start them early enough and had to wait for them!
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 30, 2011 at 10:39 AM
I didn't see Burlesque, but I love Cher, so maybe I'll have to!
Posted by: Kristin Billerbeck | October 30, 2011 at 10:42 AM
only because her dance moves remind me of yours :)
Posted by: Tony | October 30, 2011 at 12:05 PM

Posted by: Tony | October 30, 2011 at 05:41 PM
Yes, you must see Burlesque and 13 Going on 30. Let me know what you think. :o)
