Let me preface this by saying, I grew up Italian. I am not easily offended. Jenny Lawson, the author of this book, has a love affair with the F word. They are intimately acquainted, so if that's an issue for you, this is not the book for you.
This was recommended to me based on past bios I bought. Interestingly enough, my BFF got it for the end of the school year, and she's just reading it now too. (It came out a while ago, and it's been on my Kindle -- I finally read it on the plane.)
I would say it's Jen Lancaster meets "The Glass Castle" -- only more stream of consciousness. What I discovered about myself in reading this book, is that the F word barely phases me, it's just vulgar and I read right over it but talk about VOMIT? Or dead animals? And I'm a goner. I cannot STOMACH it -- no pun intended.
It's a hysterical book, but only if you can laugh at someone's pain with them. If you don't find that funny, you won't find this funny. However, on an up note, if you need to lose weight, this would be a great deterrent towards eating.
