I would love to be 80, rich and say whatever I think. That to me is a life worth striving for -- getting older and a little dotty, maybe wearing a bit too much blush and a hat. Gotta have a hat.

However, Murdoch is taking on Scientology, and they're a known sue-happy group, so I have to admire him. He's worried about Katie Holmes, and I am too. I wonder what kind of contracts she had to sign to get married, and admire her fortitude to get out, but think she is going to have a deep battle on her hands. Since who knows if Suri is considered a chosen alien among them.
Did anyone see that "South Park" interview on "60 Minutes" a few weeks ago? Apparently, the scientologists like to sue, so creators of South Park could not even talk about the possibility of Cruise being gay. (It's long been rumored in Hollywood.) So the creators did this thing where Tom Cruise was stuck in one of the kids' closets. They kept saying, "Dad, Tom Cruise won't come out of the closet!"
I don't think he's gay. Gay people don't scare me. Tom Cruise scares me. And he's rich enough to keep his hands clean of anything, so I really do admire Murdoch for speaking out and putting the possibility into the public's eye that Katie may be in for a tough battle. I hope that she'll be able to parent that little girl, who could use some discipline and seems to get treated like an adult.
In the meantime, Murdoch should keep talking.
Here's Katie with her previous boyfriend Chris Klein.
And with Tom Cruise:
