I have known people to get divorce and try to "win" their kids over from the other parent. It has to be the sickest dynamic/move known to man. Children NEED both parents and if at all possible, they should have them.
I think about Tom Cruise's kids with Nicole and how she was basically ripped from their life. Now Katie Holmes, who was their stepmother, has been ripped from their lives. How can anyone think that a RELIGION can take the place of love and nurturing and continuity?
This is child abuse in my opinion. No child should have to do without a parent because of the parents divorce. Katie is in a no-win situation because I'm sure she wants Suri to see her father, but if he's known to try to brainwash kids from their mothers, she obviously has an issue.
Watch Tom Cruise. He will say all the right things, but he won't do all the right things. His actions will not match up with his words. And for anyone who stands in judgment of Katie Holmes for marrying Tom, you don't know what kind of charm he's capable of feigning. To think you're above it, to me, is cruel.
I never did get the Cruise fascination though. I was watching a preview in the theater last night for him, and he's supposed to be the tough guy, and says, "Remember, you asked for this." While he beats a circle of tough guys up.
Really? You're buying this? I actually looked around the theater. Am I the ONLY one who sees this guy is a short, 50-year old man? Fighting all these twenty-year olds with no weapon and he's gonna win. Seriously? Fiction has to be believable.
I hope I'm wrong and Tom Cruise can learn to co-parent and honor the marriage he HAD with Katie, as well as his child. But I'm worried...
I've seen too many "normal" parents try to win -- so imagine if you're Tom Cruise and you're always used to getting your way.
