Tomorrow, four Bay Area authors (who often write together at a local coffee shop) are going to have a booksiging at Berean in San Jose. We're going to hae an open discussion on writing and the state of publishing. So please come join us! (I'll even direct you to the loo if necessary!)
You have a whole range of genres to choose from C.S. Lakin writes fantasy/modern fairy tales, Adina Senft writes Amish (and I STILL love her) She also writes steampunk under another name. Dineen Miller writes speculative fiction and MaryLu Tyndall writes great historicals and pirate books. Come join us. If nothing else, we are some kind of fun!

If only:(

Amish fiction and steampunk, LOL. On a more ironic note I looked up her steampunk works and she is already on my Amazon wishlist. I will have to make sure I grab it now.

I wish I was in CA today :)
Ha, Amish & steampunk! Has she ever combined the two in the same book? That'd be really interesting

Adina wrote a couple of novels a few years ago about a toxic church. She wrote under a different name at the time (escapes me) but I loved those books. I noticed she'd moved over to Amish, but haven't read any of those.

I found the books Adina wrote under the name Shelly Bates. Grounds to Believe is Book 1 and Pocketful of Pears is Book 2. She was raised in what she called a toxic church and drew from that experience to write these two books. For me they were page-turners.

I tried to find them and wasn't successful.

I know! It'd be hard to do. I've thought of Amish chick lit & they don't exactly click either

LOL, the book title is Pocketful of Pearls. Although a pocketful of pears might be interesting. Sheesh.
