So the apples that come in a Happy Meal now, instead of real-sized French Fries, are being recalled due to a "listeria" threat. I don't know what Listeria is, but I'm guessing since it sounds like Listerine it's some kind of Bacteria that the mouthwash could kill.
(See how my science brain works?)
I'm so over the health police. If I take my kids to McDonalds for a little fun, hey, I understand keeping the crappy toy. It's bad for the environment, but my kids want French Fries. Mommy will feed them apples at home, k? Do you see what happens when you try to include health in a Happy Meal? That's right. Listeria.

My son would reach out for the Golden Arches at 9 months. (This is the boy who is addicted to mashed potatoes...potatoes of any kind actually.) He must have gotten the Irish gene from me.
I hope McDonald's now rethinks this whole healthy thing. It's like "part of a nutritious breakfast" -- no one expects health from their Happy Meal. Just sayin.
I found this recipe looking for the picture. SOOOO not healthy. I could have done without this information because McDonald's fries are pretty fantastic.
