I started working on the Ashley Stockingdale novel today. And I think the reason I didn't want to write her is because subconsciously, I KNEW that if I started writing her, all that crazy would come back to me in spades and my life would turn upside down.
ONE DAY -- that's all it's been and you know what? Here are just a few highlights from my day.
A year ago, I met someone who works with the police department solving murder cases. How, you ask? She hears messages from the "other side." So this woman texts me. She wants me to take a healing class. Apparently, I have the gift of healing and I should be there.
Then, I have a long, drawn-out political conversation with a female psychiatrist I met at Starbucks.
Another friend emails me that I have to take a class in self-publishing because she wants me back in chick lit ASAP.
THIS is why I'm afraid to take on Ashley's alter-ego. She's a weirdo magnet, and like Jack Nicholson says, "Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all full up here."
Oh but on a happy note, I wasn't going to watch Splash tonight, until I learned Louie Anderson was going to be on. I LOOOOVE Louie Anderson. And you know what? He tweeted me back a thank you. OMG, SOOO excited. I've been a fan since I was in high school and saw him at the Circle Star Theater when there was a Circle Star Theater. : )
